PREACH SEMINAR

Respected UK pastor John Stott used the image of building a bridge anchored to both sides of a chasm. Professor Haddon Robinson talked about preaching being like an ellipse with two centres (rather than a circle with just one). James Cleland, dean of the Chapel at Duke University, coined the phrase "bi-focal preaching".

Each of these esteemed preachers and thinkers was describing the dual challenge for preachers - being faithful
to the biblical text while being applicable and relevant to a modern audience. I am passionate about both preaching sermons that meet this dual challenge and also helping other communicators to learn to do the same.

 

This Preach seminar is designed to give both new and experienced preachers a simple process for developing sermons that are both faithful and accurate to God's Word, while simultaneously speaking to the challenges and struggles of our unique audience. This seminar also provides teaching teams within a church a common preaching philosophy and language.
