MAJESTY SEMINAR

God is the most important Being in the entire universe. He is utterly unique and unlike anyone else.

 

God is at the heart of the Christian faith. He is the central character of the story of the Bible. He is the focus of myriad hymns and songs of worship. And the study of God is at the core of Theology, the queen of sciences. Nothing in all of life is more important than the contemplation, learning, and worship of God.

And therefore is absolutely essential that our understanding of God lines up with what He has revealed in His Word, the Bible. ​In their book "You Are A Theologian," Jen Wilkin and J T English write,

 

"If we get the doctrine of God wrong,   we will likely get every other doctrine wrong, because every other Christian belief finds its beginning in the doctrine of God" (p.32).

For many of us, there is a deep awareness that our understanding and appreciation of who God is, is woefully inadequate. We are like children paddling in the shallows of the sea, while a vast and infinite ocean stretches out into the distance.

Majesty is a seminar that invites to dive into the mystery and character of God. It explores the wonder of a Being who is both knowable and unknowable, both awe-inspiring and intimately loving. The seminar also invites us to explore the nature of the Trinity - that God exists as one God and yet three Persons - Father, Son and Spirit. Finally, over the course of the day we will examine many of the characteristics and attributes of God that are described and revealed in the Bible.
